Research interests

My PhD work was on the Venetian geographer Giovanni Battista Ramusio and his 3-volume publication Navigationi et viaggi (Venice, 1550-1559). I am now expanding this research by looking at all sixteenth-century geographical publications of the Italian peninsula: the context of their edition and how they took advantage of the book privileges system.
Keywords:age of discoveries, history of geography, privileges, travel narratives.
Studied area(s):Florence, Rome, Venice.
Studied period:1501-1600
