Research interests

My PhD research looks at the linguistic, cultural, and ideological connotations of roman type used in English books, from its first appearance in 1509 to the end of the sixteenth century. More generally, I am interested in any intersection between language and typography, and the history of English. I provide research for the Material Evidence in Incunabula project, and my Masters dissertation analyzed the editorial decisions of printers of English incunabula.
