Research interests
I work primarily on medical and disability history in early modern Britain. My curent focus is facial disfigurement, especially medical and legal approaches, in Briatin, America and Australia (c1600-1850). I have previously worked on rhinoplasty/nose surgery, venereal diseases, prostitution, John Taylor, and gardens. I utilise book history methodolgies for medical history research, and have broader interests in book and manuscript studies.
