Research interests
Literature of the Burgundian Netherlands, Olivier de La Marche, mémoires and historiography. The transition of later medieval works into print. I am working on a study of the work of sixteenth-century translator and editor, Denis Sauvage and his role in canon formation. I am also interested in the personal and professional networks of the early French print world and in particular of Nicole Gilles. I’ve also written on Manneken Pis and Belgian national and regional identity and on presentation of Charlemagne in the historiography of France and Burgundy in the later middle ages.
