My research is focused on the illustration of French early printed books: the way they were produced and by whom, the way typographical material (namely types, woodcuts and metalcuts) circulated, and the way these books were read. I am currently interested in the study of painted copies of printed books, which exemplify the proximity between the manuscript and printed productions.
As a volunteer research staff at the State University of New York at Albany, I am establishing, in collaboration with Mary Beth Winn, a database of Antoine Vérard's editions and the material he used.
